Abstract

HUERTA CUERVO, Rocío et al. Technological and gender inclusion in the Network of Seminaries Re-think of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional. Innov. educ. (Méx. DF) [online]. 2020, vol.20, n.84, pp.33-56.  Epub Mar 03, 2025. ISSN 1665-2673.

This article answers the question: How is technological and gender inclusion experienced in the Network of Seminaries Re-think (RSR) of Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN)? The theoretical framework cho sen holds that the tasks assigned to men and women maintain socially constructed stereotypes, which do not encourage equity. An attempt was made to identify whether these notions are observed in the Net work’s academic work and if they restrict the inclusion of men and women. The research strategy used was mixed and was supported by documentary research about the RSR as analysis unit, interviews, a questionnaire and the exploration of the RSR’s web pages. The find ings identify institutional barriers that reinforce gender inequities within RSR, especially for the incorporation of women in the areas of physical-mathematical sciences, engineering and technology.
