Research about student’s anxiety towards mathematics has become recurrent in academic discourse since it affects student performance. Studies about this topic have shown results that have contributed to the redesign of the curricula of mathematics in different populations and institutions. The aim of this study is to analyze anxiety towards mathematics in a telebachillerato students with the dimensions of the RMARS scale. 200 students of a telebachillerato were interviewed in the community of Jamapa in Veracruz. The data matrix showed a reliability of α: 0.945 (25 items) and α: 0.936 (grouped by 3 dimensions). The assumption of multivariate normality was proved with the K-S test, which justified the technique of exploratory factor analysis with extraction of components. The result shows that there is a structure of variables that underlies the phenomenon of anxiety and that the model is integrated by four factors and not by three as the authors of the scale indicated. Regarding gender, it was not possible to demonstrate significant differences.
