This article, based on the State of Knowledge methodology, conducted an inventory in the CAPES Thesis and Dissertation Catalog, Brazil, on Mathematics Education and Malba Tahan. The survey covered 16 studies (1 thesis and 15 dissertations) defended between 2017 and 2023, revealing three central categories: Literature-Mathematics interdisciplinarity, pedagogical innovation, and teacher training. The book The Man Who Counted was the most cited (13 studies), followed by Didactics of Mathematics (six dissertations). The analysis highlighted four categories of his legacy: interdisciplinarity, pedagogical innovation, teacher training, and cultural impact. This study aims to enhance the visibility and recognition of Malba Tahan’s approach to Mathematics Education.
