Resumen
MANSILLA, H. C. F.. Human abandonment within modernization processes. A brief essay of political philosophy on totalitarianism with special stress on the Third World. Sig. Fil [online]. 2016, vol.18, n.35, pp.110-139. ISSN 1665-1324.
A critical approach on totalitarianism is necessary because of the permanence of those conditions which produced the classical totalitarian regimes. This phenomenon can be also perceived today in some regions of the Third World. A clear distinction between authoritarianism and totalitarianism is useful, in order to further analyze the possibilities of totalitarianism contained in charismatic populism and in the despotic routines of non-democratic and anti-pluralistic cultures. In the Third World and because of a partial modernization process, the pathologies of Modernity flourish now, which are distinctive of totalitarianism.
