This article presents the pragma-enunciative framework of point-of-view theory (henceforth PDV), placing it within a trans-semiotic framework, showing how certain procedures structuring the organization of linguistic referencing can be used to analyze iconic representation (repetitions, parallels, contrasts, mise en abyme, closure; choice of what is in the foreground or background; processes of valorization or devalorization); the whole forming signifying structures. The latter are articulated with the sources or enunciative supports that are the centers of PDV, whether they be the instances represented internally in the document, or the representative instance, at the origin of the document. These hypotheses will be successively confronted with the study of discourses, verbo-iconic or purely iconic documents.
