Abstract

CHAN-CHI, Gladis Ivette  and  RODRIGUEZ-PECH, Juanita. Social linkage through professional internships in a postgraduate degree in education. Sinéctica [online]. 2025, n.64, e1688.  Epub June 23, 2025. ISSN 2007-7033.  https://doi.org/10.31391/ndvc1369.

Professional internships in postgraduate studies are a mechanism that favors the articulation of the training process with the needs of the sectors of society, which generates tangible benefits for the students and for the institutions with which they collaborate. The objective of this study is to analyze the characteristics of professional practices developed through social engagement, as part of a postgraduate degree in education. The research was quantitative in scope and descriptive; the dataset was analyzed with the content analysis technique. It was found that the professional practice developed by the master´s degree students made it possible to detect priority needs related to teacher training, as well as the interest and motivation of the students who make up the educational communities with which they were linked. It is concluded that the development of this type of internship strengthens the competencies acquired by students in their postgraduate training, since it allowed them to introduce changes and improvements in the contexts in which they intervened, effects that were widely recognized by the authorities of the social instance with which it collaborated.
