Abstract

FLORES-CRESPO, Pedro. Investigación educativa y políticas públicas en México: una relación amorfa y elusiva. Sinéctica [online]. 2009, n.33, pp.01-13. ISSN 2007-7033.

This article stresses the importance of the relationship between research and policy making. In doing so, it identifies some political and social conditions of the Mexico's political system that might facilitate the use of the knowledge in the process of decision making. However, three challenges persist: (1) How to discern the quality of the educational research in order to inform policy properly; (2) How to avoid positivistic and technocratic rationales while promoting the links between research and policy; and (3) How to construct an institutional scaffolding that allows the emergence democratic spaces for public discussions and for the "public reasoning" (Amartya Sen).

Keywords : Policy; Evidence-based policy; Mexico.
