This article analyzes several characteristics and resources of museums, which are useful to face contemporary challenges. These elements allow having an education that consents a broader view; integration of a wide range of knowledge and learning methods; exchange of ideas; an ethical point of view flanking reality; and learning from and for the people who assume as part of society. In the view of empirical data, various relations of visitors with museums are identified. Key issues regarding the learning process that museums provide are documented with the aim to consider these places as vital institutions for a better education.
