GARIBAY CHAVEZ, María Guadalupe; CURIEL BALLESTEROS, Arturo and REGALADO SANTILLAN, Jorge. Trend and destiny; 50 years of global environmental concern. Espiral (Guadalaj.) [online]. 2024, vol.31, n.91, pp.115-155. Epub Nov 15, 2024. ISSN 1665-0565. https://doi.org/10.32870/eees.v31i91.7377.
This article examines the progress of the warnings and agreements of the last 50 years, to address global environmental changes whose trend is towards a planetary disaster. Using environmental health indicators, global changes are recognized as an altered state of the environment and axis both to analyze the driving forces and pressures that have caused it, as well as the effects on public health produced by exposure to such changes, analyzing trends by continent in the last decade.
The result obtained is the confirmation that, despite the agreements of 50 years ago, the driving forces and pressures identified as the causes of global environmental changes have not been modified; and with respect to the effects, it is confirmed that those who are contributing the least to these planetary pressures are the most exposed and affected.
