This paper analyses the idea of civil disobedience as praxis from the perspective of the Latin American continent. Upon referring to the term civil, the importance of theorizing on the category of civil society is dealt with in unison with the concepts of democracy and praxis. The objective is to explain the justification of civil disobedience in emocratic societies and the possibility of extending said disobedience to the field of social praxis beyond the liberal conception.
