This article discusses the case of the Fundación Haciendas del Mundo Maya, a civil organization oriented to local development linked to tourism of hacienda. Our goal is to analyze the scheme of work of the institution, focusing on one of their production projects: craft workshops. This ethnography was conducted in two locations in Yucatán, Temozón and Santa Rosa, where we found that the intervention of the Fundación Haciendas del Mundo Maya has generated socio-political implications for women and youth.
