This paper aims to evaluate Andrés Manuel López Obrador's and the Coalición Electoral Movimiento Progresista's political performance concerning the last two elections, when left-wing parties attended as a coalition: one for presidential elections, in which López Obrador was also candidate (2006); and an intermediate one to renew the members of the Federal Congress' lower house (2009).We try to identify the left-wing voting behaviour and what it suggests about López Obrador's strategy in the 2012 election.
