The objective of this work was to analyze the competitiveness profile of goat farming in BCS. Fifty rural goat farming companies located in the municipality of Mulegé, were selected using random sampling. From these, we obtained information on factors such as Management, Marketing, Quality, Productivity and Environment, allowing us to build the Competitive Capacity Index (ICC) of rural companies. Among the factors, the strongest valuation was identified in Environment and Management, while the weakest one was identified in Marketing, Quality and Productivity. Our study concludes identifying the vulnerability of the activity in competitive environments and stating proposals for improvement.
