Population and depopulation: challenges regarding a demographic analysis in the State of Mexico in times of pandemic. Pap. poblac [online]. 2023, vol.29, n.117, pp.83-106. Epub Feb 04, 2025. The objective of this text is to analyze the associations of the biological-social variables and categories around settlement and depopulation in the State of Mexico in 2015-2020. It is interesting to highlight when two categories are close to each other and if they are often taken together. It is also worth looking for one or more continuous synthetic variables to summarize the categories. Finally, we seek to characterize groups of municipalities according to categories of settlement and depopulation. A group of municipalities may have a similar population or depopulation profile determined by their biological and social dimensions. That is, two municipalities are close to each other if they responded to the variables and associations in the same way. Based on a combination of information sources, rates, indices, cartographies and the multiple correspondence model are constructed, which synthesizes four groups of settlement and depopulation in the State of Mexico between 2015-2020.
Keywords : population; depopulation; demographic system; fertility correspondence; mortality; migration; socioeconomic context among others.
