Resumen
JIMENEZ-RESTREPO, Diana Marcela y CASTILLO-VALENCIA, María. How many borders must be overcome? The case of adolescents and young people from Cali, Colombia, in conditions of social vulnerability. Pap. poblac [online]. 2023, vol.29, n.116, pp.169-195. Epub 29-Nov-2024. ISSN 2448-7147. https://doi.org/10.22185/24487147.2023.116.17.
Following the theoretical model proposed by Kaztman (1999), this document constructs an index to explore social vulnerability for adolescents and young people in Cali, with data from the participants of the TIP - JSF Jóvenes sin Fronteras program, whose living conditions are determined by precariousness and exclusion, especially because they are part of the population of strata 1 and 2, which also have a greater exposure to violence. When applying a Youth Vulnerability Index to participants between the ages of 11 and 24, it was found that the vast majority present some type of vulnerability, registering deficiencies in indicators such as access to public services and school attendance.
