Resumen

This article aims to recover Justa Ezpeleta’s reflections about rural education and about the connections between educational policies and schools, in light of the analysis of two educational programs that were implemented in Argentina with international funding: the Program for the Expansion and Improvement of Agricultural Technical Education (1980-1990) and the Second Project for the Improvement of Rural Education (2016-2020). The authors’ analyses, based on the exploration of cases from two different provinces in two historical moments, arise from the convergence between their own ethnographic research and Justa Ezpeleta’s contributions. The results allow us to think about the complexity of the construction and implementation of the programs, taking into account the historical subjects who are involved, the different scales they imply and the processes of control, resistance and appropriation that take place within the framework of structural and political transformations.
