Abstract

MEDRANO CAMACHO, Verónica. Federal Policy and Budgetary Restructuring for Normal Education during the 2018-2024 Administration. RMIE [online]. 2024, vol.29, n.103, pp.1055-1067.  Epub Feb 24, 2025. ISSN 1405-6666.

Taking into account that the sustainability of policies is usually measured through the funding that is linked to them, this article analyzes the repositioning of normal schools within the national educational normativity, the participation of the normal education community in the design of the policy addressed to them, and the fluctuations of their federal funding. Although the recognition achieved by the normal schools in the new regulations is fundamental, the analysis of their approved and accrued budget over a decade reveals how the normal schools have managed to gain appropriation of the means to obtain resources, but lack strong interlocutors to intercede for them in their negotiation, which places them on a disadvantageous position in periods of contingency such as those faced during the 2018-2024 administration.
