This article presents the results of a qualitative research carried out with educational agents from public and private schools in central-southern Chile. By means of interviews, an attempt was made to elucidate the way in which these schools were dealing with the conflicts generated by the presence of sexually dissident students. From the methodological point of view, we opted for grounded theory to carry out the analysis; this process yielded an axial coding that refers to the integration strategies of dissident students and a second one that makes reference to the invisibilization and imposition of silence that falls on these same students. Among the main conclusions, it is worth noting that in public schools they tend to be ignored, while in subsidized and private schools they are tolerated on condition of silence.
