Resumen

BURBANO, Angélica; LEDESMA, Ana Judith  y  ORDONEZ, Dayana Alexandra. Engineering teaching competencies. Literature review. RMIE [online]. 2024, vol.29, n.101, pp.181-203.  Epub 29-Jul-2024. ISSN 1405-6666.

The main objective of this research was to identify teaching competencies in the field of engineering, in the absence of a common agreement as to what they are. For this purpose, a literature review was carried out. The methodology was implemented in three steps: a) planning the search for information, including the formulation of research questions and of formulae for exploration in databases; b) carrying out the research, in the beginning of which 71 articles were found and, once analyzed, 36 were selected that mentioned teaching competencies in general; and c) writing the research report. Among the main results, we found that the articles focused on competencies at a pedagogical level but not at a disciplinary level with respect to engineering teaching; however, when considering as a reference the proposals of the CDIO organization (conceive, design, implement, operate) and the ABET initiative (dedicated to the accreditation of university engineering and technology programs), we could obtain specific competencies of the profession.

Palabras llave : teaching competencies; engineering; documentary analysis.
