Abstract

TOBENA, Verónica  and  NOBILE, Mariana. Changing the Training Project at Argentine Secondary Schools: Strategies of In-service Teacher Education in Two Recent Provincial Policies. RMIE [online]. 2021, vol.26, n.89, pp.423-448.  Epub June 04, 2021. ISSN 1405-6666.

Focusing on the strategies implemented in in-service teacher education, this article examines two recent Argentine policies that seek to transform the training project of secondary education. Two empirical cases-that of the PROA schools in the province of Córdoba and the secondary school of Rio Negro (ESRN)-are taken from an exploratory, descriptive study of six provincial policies. The selection is intentional and attempts to compare initiatives with a shared horizon yet dissimilar strategies. The results show that the scale and gradualness defined by each policy affect the possibilities of the policy's assimilation into the educational system. The research also recognizes the shortage of teachers who have the profile described by these initiatives.
