Resumen
EVANGELISTA DIAS, Rosanne. Student Teaching in Latin America's Curriculum Policies for Teacher Education. RMIE [online]. 2015, vol.20, n.65, pp.443-459. ISSN 1405-6666.
In this article, we analyze the discourse of political texts from the epistemic community that defend student teaching as a central part of teacher education, and we explore the different meanings of the term. Such discourse, as an expression of social practice, is debated in various contexts of producing curriculum policy, and constructs hegemonic proposals within the complex process of articulating demands that involve tension and conflict. We selected texts produced during the first decade of this century by international organizations as well as Latin American researchers. In these documents, "student teaching" attempts to attribute a central meaning to teacher education by adding several meanings disputed in the discourse of the analyzed texts.
