Abstract

MARIN-MARTINEZ, Adriana  and  REIDL MARTINEZ, Lucy María. Psychometric Validation of the Questionnaire, ''That's How We Get Along at School'', to Evaluate Bullying in Elementary School. RMIE [online]. 2013, vol.18, n.56, pp.11-36. ISSN 1405-6666.

The purpose of this research was to develop an instrument to assess bullying in a sample of Mexican children. The participants were 839 children (56% boys and 44% girls) between ages nine and thirteen (M=10.8 years old). Based on a previous study, two construct criteria were developed (frequency of assault and intent to harm). The instrument consists of three scales. The bystander scale has four dimensions: physical, social, property damage, and verbal. The victim scale has four dimensions: physical, property damage, psychological, and sexual touching. The aggressor scale includes three dimensions: physical, property damage, and psychological. A valid and reliable instrument was obtained to assess bullying among Mexican children.

Keywords : bullying; students; elementary school; evaluating instruments; Mexico.
