This article analyzes evaluations of the teacher training reform that were collected from teachers serving in various functions in the state of Aguascalientes. Interviews were held by following an interview guide focused on the purposes and facets of the Program of Academic Transformation and Development of Normal School. The analysis of the information was centered on identifying the positive traits of the reform, its achievements, and the obstacles to its implementation. The conclusions, on one hand, refer to the consensus that the reform was necessary and that it contributed academic, financial, and material elements leading to institutional improvement; on the other hand, an identification is made of obstacles of an administrative, political, pedagogical, and managerial nature that have limited the full institutionalization of the reform, which needs to be continued and strengthened.
