RZEDOWSKI, J. y MEDINA LEMOS, R.. Bursera zapoteca (Burseraceae), new arboreous species from the southeast of Oaxaca, Mexico. Polibotánica [online]. 2018, n.45, pp.1-6. ISSN 1405-2768. https://doi.org/10.18387/polibotanica.45.1.
Bursera zapoteca Rzed, & Medina sp.nov., a tree of tropical semi-evergreen forest in the Tehuantepec river basin of the southeastern part of the Mexican state Oaxaca, is described and illustrated. The new taxon belongs to the clade of species allied with B. simaruba (L.) Sarg. and is closely related to B. permollis Standl. & Steyerm., as well as to B. krusei Rzed., from which it is essentially differentiated by its unifoliolate and cordiform leaves and by its reddish flowers.
