This work has been developed within the framework of the “Conservation Project, Strengthening and Sustainable Use of the flora of Ita Azul and San Gervasio, Colonia Independencia, Ybytyruzu Managed Resources Reserve, Paraguay” and aimed to determine the vascular flora and identify the main plant formations of Acatí hill, Itá Azul, Colonia Independencia, Guairá Department, Paraguay. Collections were made at different times during the years 2012 and 2014 in the study area. Herbarium specimens were identified and deposited at the herbarium FCQ. As result, two vegetation, prevailing, maintaining its pristine features, but with evidence of extraction by forestry and land use for agriculture and livestock were identified. These formations are the primary naturally low forest and gallery forest. A total of specimens were collected,
Apocynaceae (4 genera and 4 species), Rutaceae (4 genera and 5 species). Of the species collected, 82 species are herb, 49 are arboreal and 35 shrubbery54 families, 139 genera, 176 species, 3 variety and 1 subspecie. The better represented families are: Asteraceae, 18 genera and 21 species), Fabaceae, (11 genera and 13 species), Rubiaceae, (7 genera and 10 species), Myrtaceae (6 genera and 8 species), Apocynaceae (4 genera and 4 species), Rutaceae (4 genera and 5 species). Of the species collected, 82 species are herb, 49 are arboreal and 35 shrubbery.
