Abstract
ZAMACONA ABOUMRAD, Guillermo Alfredo and ALABART SPOTTORNO, Yago. Pitch of Indicators to Assess Economic Sustainability of Cultural Projects. Case Study: PACMyC. Gest. polít. pública [online]. 2019, vol.28, n.1, pp.237-269. ISSN 1405-1079. https://doi.org/10.29265/gypp.v28i1.547.
A key feature of public policies is —or should be— one of concerning themselves with the sustained well-being of society, through the implementation of programs that minimize the dependence between beneficiaries and public administration. With this in mind, the assessment of cultural programs should focus, among several other vital tasks, on measuring results and analyzing their sustainability. Nowadays, the cultural evaluation process tends to provide information on program budgetary compliance, overall management and coverage, leaving aside the necessary in-depth analysis of program results, impact, sector-specific considerations and, last but not least, sustainability. This article, based on the study of the projects financed by PACMyC —Mexico’s primary program for the strengthening of municipal and communitarian cultures— in Querétaro during 2012, presents a series of indicators that measure the economic sustainability of cultural projects by means of linking their results with the value chain.
