ZERMENO, Guillermo. Historiographical orthodoxy put at stake: Michel De Certeau. Hist. graf [online]. 2013, n.40, pp.71-102. ISSN 1405-0927.
The recent apparition of Michel de Certeau's The possession at Loudun in Spanish (2012) gives way for contemporary historiography to reflect about it's actuality and innovative character. It's apparition in French, in 1970, coincided with the "epistemological awakening" of historiography, a time when historians -like De Certeau- reflected about history by viewing it through the lens of it's own practice. Hence, one of the central issues of this essay is to explore the significance that the return of the "event" had in history, a concept tightly linked to the newfound importance given to the historicity principle that encompassed every work of history, and referred to the "places" where the so called "historical events"emerge. The plotting of this work is not only constituted by the conjunction between theory and practice, but by the search for new forms of "narration" for history as well.
