Abstract
SORIA-DIAZ, Henry Francisco et al. Multitemporal analysis of deforestation in a buffer zone in the southwestern Amazonia, Peru. Madera bosques [online]. 2024, vol.30, n.3, e3032678. Epub Apr 08, 2025. ISSN 2448-7597. https://doi.org/10.21829/myb.2024.3032678.
Multitemporal analysis of deforestation in buffer zones is very important to identify anthropic activities and estimate the rate of change of deforestation according to the period analyzed. In that sense, the objective of the present study was to perform a multitemporal analysis of deforestation in the buffer zone of the Tambopata National Reserve from the period 2013-2022 using Landsat 8, 7 and Sentinel-2A satellite images. The rate of deforestation from anthropic activities was quantified by performing a supervised classification using the spectral angle mapping method of the “Semi-Automatic Classification Plugin - SCP” of QGIS software. The results indicate that from 2013 to 2022 there was a loss of forest cover of 14 456,92 ha, where “mining” and “agriculture and livestock” were the two anthropic activities that contributed most to deforestation. It is concluded that it is necessary to take measures to address the advance of deforestation generated by anthropic activities. These results will help the stakeholders involved in the administration of the protected area's buffer zone to monitor and mitigate the advance of deforestation in areas of high anthropic pressure.
