INIESTA DELGADO, Juan José. Legal Principles and Soft Law. Isonomía [online]. 2025, n.63, pp.131-158.  Epub 20-Fev-2026. ISSN 1405-0218.  https://doi.org/10.5347/isonomia.63/2025.844.

The objective of this paper is to attempt to clarify the relationship between soft law and legal principles. To this end, we begin by examining the ontological and functional aspects of both notions as a basis for specifying the structure of their possible interactions, analyzing how doctrine has explained them and how a coherent reconstruction of them can be outlined. These relationships highlight a dual direction of support, as soft law serves as both an instrumental and material support for legal principles, while legal principles provide justification and legal foundation for soft law.

Palavras-chave : soft law; legal principles; rules; sources of law; formal and material principles.
