Abstract

LOPEZ LEVI, Liliana  and  SOTO REYES GARMENDIA, Ernesto. Federalismo y redistritación electoral en México. Polít. cult. [online]. 2008, n.29, pp.125-147. ISSN 2954-4130.

This article discusses electoral redistricting and its effect on the integration of national representation. We analyze the possibility of a redistricting process in agreement with federalism, democracy and the electoral system, in the context of the State Reform project. The paper tackles electoral federalism to identify actual disparities among the local electoral systems and with the federal one, from which some difficulties are identified and solutions are proposed, such as a new composition of the local and federal electoral institutes and from the redistricting task.

Keywords : Electoral Federalism; Electoral Redistricting; Democracy; State Reform; Electoral Geography.
