Abstract

IMAZ, Elixabete. Elaborating its Own Memory: Maternity as a Landmark in the Narration of Biographical Trajectory. Alteridades [online]. 2015, vol.25, n.49, pp.53-65. ISSN 2448-850X.

Mijail Bajtin's arguments on ancient Greek novel and Marc Augé's proposal on memory and oblivion management in African rites stand as a proposal to promote the analysis on women's understanding of their own maternity within their vital trajectory. By elaborating a typology of biographical accounts, the text illustrates how memory of past and present times is represented from the landmark that constitutes maternity and, at the same time, how their own future is projected.

Keywords : autobiography; vital trajectory; subjectivity; oblivion; biographical method.
