Resumen
AYALA-COLQUI, Jesús. Events, Assemblages and Subjectivations in Deleuze and Badiou: About the Speculative Possibilities of the Multiple beyond Human Subjectivism. Tópicos (México) [online]. 2025, n.72, pp.301-350. Epub 11-Ago-2025. ISSN 0188-6649. https://doi.org/10.21555/top.v720.2843.
This paper elucidates to what extent Deleuze and Badiou discuss the same ontological problematic, namely, pure multiplicity as a new figure of ontology. It is argued that, regardless of whether they use the same terms with different meanings or simply different concepts, both authors in fact think of multiplicity in relation to the concept of the discontinuous on the basis of a mathematical inspired approach. In order to illustrate this convergence, the so-called “speculative realism” is taken as a parallel in order to show which approach, Deleuze’s or Badiou’s, allows us to better connect multiplicity, discontinuity and the recusal of a founding subject in the sense of the elaboration of a posthuman ontology.
