Resumen
MORENO-FERRER, Gerard. Duplicity of Metaphysics and Duplicity of Politics: Granel before Feuerbach, Nancy before Blanchot. Tópicos (México) [online]. 2025, n.72, pp.165-201. Epub 11-Ago-2025. ISSN 0188-6649. https://doi.org/10.21555/top.v720.2851.
The debate on community opened by Nancy and Blanchot in 1983 had a major impact on the political thought over the following twenty years. However, the veiled criticisms that these authors addressed to each other were not made explicit until Nancy himself presented them in “La communauté desavouée”. There, Nancy points to a split in politics that occurs in Blanchot’s approaches that lead the latter to repeat what he was trying to fight. Gérard Granel, in a 1973 text in which he discusses the relationship between Heidegger and metaphysical thought, directed a similar criticism at Feuerbach by affirming that the latter’s attempt to abandon metaphysics brought about what he was trying to avoid. In this article, I address the similarity between both approaches. I present possible alternatives to the problem pointed out by Nancy.
