Abstract
GEISSERT KIENTZ, Daniel. Regionalización geomorfológica del estado de Veracruz. Invest. Geog [online]. 1999, n.40, pp.23-47. ISSN 2448-7279.
The current knowledge of landforms of the state of Veracruz required updating. Small-scale classification of Mexican relief (Lugo and Córdova, 1990a; 1992) was followed to elaborate a geomorphological map at a scale of 1: 1 000 000, which includes 37 units, belonging to six geomorphological provinces and nine subprovinces. The principal contribution is not only ihe scale. Each unit has been more fully described in terms of morphology, morphometry. Iithology and geostructure. Dominant exogenic processes, such as fluvial erosion, sedimentation, and karstificatlon have also been characterized. The major landform classes, by area, are dissected hills shaped by erosional processes, depositional low plains and eroded mountains Recent landforms, essentially Pliocene and Quaternary, dominais the relief in Veracruz.
