This article examines the issue of collective actions produced to address violence and armed conflict in Colombia, first in the literature on the topic of violence and armed conflict and on the other hand, in the literature devoted to analysis social movement for peace and human rights. First, the findings are mentioned and generalizations about citizen behaviour and political culture in response to situations of violence and armed conflict. Secondly, the main contributions on the rise and national dynamics of social movements for peace and human rights. And thirdly, the recent contributions of the studies that have described and analyzed various local collective action, some by way of experiences and collective manifestations of civil resistance, as accumulated other social and political face of violence produced in developing of internal armed conflict. The conclusion is that collective actors have mobilized despite threats against life and physical integrity, highlighting the recent review of the subject, the nature and relative momentary civil subordination against the armed power and despotic.
