CUECUECHA MENDOZA, Alfredo; VASQUEZ CORONA, Arturo  e  MENESES ORTIZ, Patricia. Is There a Link between Financial Literacy and Inclusion of Women? Evidence from Mexico. This article examines the impact of financial literacy on financial inclusion in a sample of Mexican women from Zacatelco, Tlaxcala. Data matching methods found that the probability of having a bank account is higher for women who are one standard deviation above the financial literacy distribution mean. Similarly, findings show that financial knowledge and behavior increase the probability of having a bank account, whereas no effect is found for financial attitude. When interacting knowledge or behavior with attitude, however, the positive effects of financial literacy vanish. We interpret these results as showing the need for a comprehensive approach to financial education that imparts knowledge and changes financial behavior and attitudes.
