MORALES PAEZ, Marcela and GARCIA-GALVAN, Rodolfo. Academia-Industry Technoscientific Collaboration. An Analysis of Professor-Researcher Perception. Econ: teor. práct [online]. 2020, n.52, pp.171-206. Epub June 17, 2020. ISSN 2448-7481. https://doi.org/10.24275/etypuam/ne/522020/morales.
The aim of this paper is to present findings on the perception of professors-researchers concerning academia-industry technoscientific collaboration in Baja California, Mexico. The methodology included an online survey of professor-researchers from universities and public research centers known for their knowledge-generating skills. The statistical Chi square test was applied to measure the association level among variables of interest in the study. The following findings stand out: the main form of cooperation is reflected in the dissemination of technoscientific knowledge; the most important administrative office identified by researchers is the Postgraduate and Research Office, and the need for an exclusive office to support technoscientific cooperation activities was found to be imperative. The demand of regional surroundings can be a determining factor in cooperation promotion, while excessive researcher workloads may impose limits on cooperation development. True impetus for technoscientific cooperation on the part of universities was not observed.
Keywords : technoscientifical cooperation; researchers perception; regional surroundings.
