Resumen
GARCIA DE LA SIENRA, Rodrigo. Nellie Campobello: Intimacy of the Voice and Rewriting of History. Lit. mex [online]. 2025, vol.36, n.1, pp.89-116. Epub 24-Jun-2025. ISSN 2448-8216. https://doi.org/10.19130/iifl.litmex.2025.1/s00x1328.
This essay explores the role of intimacy in the narrative work of Nellie Campobello, particularly when it resonates with the patterns set by the maternal voice and the ancestral echo that accompanies it. This is part of a literary endeavor aimed at confronting the hegemonic discourse of the post-revolutionary regime through a struggle for form and the poetic construction of a truth that aspires to rewrite history. Throughout its five sections, and with the support of various critical sources, the article addresses issues such as the assignment of Campobello’s narrative to the corpus of the “novel of the Revolution” or the one related to the intermedial character of the narrative of the Durango-born writer. A section is also dedicated to specifically commenting on “Nacha Ceniceros,” one of the stories that is part of Cartucho.
