Abstract

SANCHEZ MALDONADO, Miguel; TERRON BLANCO, José Luis  and  LOZANO RENDON, José Carlos. Stigmatization and lexical use in the journalistic treatment of information about HIV/AIDS in five Mexican newspapers from 2012 to 2013. Comun. soc [online]. 2016, n.25, pp.71-100. ISSN 0188-252X.

The goal of this work was to find out if the information about HIV/AIDS published in five Mexican newspapers denoted any kind of stigmatization. The content analysis resulted in the presence of neutral vocabulary. The disease wasn't linked to the topic of death and alarmist information was not used.
