Abstract
CRAVIOTTI, Clara. Multiscale dynamics and globalized firms in the Argentinian dairy industry. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2019, vol.81, n.4, pp.765-796. Epub Nov 07, 2019. ISSN 2594-0651. https://doi.org/10.22201/iis.01882503p.2019.4.57987.
In this article, the changes involved in the immersion of “mature” agro-industrial activities -such as the dairy industry- in a global logic of operation are analyzed. The study of the firm-territory interface is used to illustrate the complex territoriality of globalized firms. Their behavior creates an “outside”, represented by disincorporated subjects and spaces and others that do not experience these dynamics directly, although they are affected by them. However, the translation of global processes in the territory is not univocal, due to the characteristics of the activity and local spaces, and the mediation of agents that play different roles, inside and outside firms.
