FLORES CORDOBA, María José; RUDOLPH, Carina Alejandra y MATURANO, Carla Inés. Approach of chemical bonding in textbooks in Argentina. Educ. quím [online]. 2023, vol.34, n.3, pp.132-142. Epub 20-Dic-2023. ISSN 0187-893X. https://doi.org/10.22201/fq.18708404e.2023.3.84381.
The chemical bonding is a content that serves as a basis for understanding other chemistry topics. In this work we present an analysis of the insertion of the chemical bonding and other related topics in textbooks of Basic Secondary Education in Argentina. We examine the approach to the contents that are linked to this topic in a direct and complementary way. The sample is made up of seven textbooks from the most frequently used publishers in this context. The results obtained show that there are differences among the editorial proposals in relation to the content they address and the order in which they do so. We relate these results with the forms of sequencing proposed by different authors who previously investigated this problem in other contexts, concluding that a traditional approach is followed instead of promoting perspectives that allow a better visualization of the relationship of chemistry contents with daily life. This study can contribute to the process of selecting material by teachers, since it would allow them to evaluate the approach to the topic of chemical bonding in textbooks.
