A brief review is presented on the two most important facets of Mario Molina’s life, as he liked to be addressed: that of a ‘maestro’ of young and not so young people interested in protecting the environment and that of a researcher, throughout the extension of the word, taking knowledge from all those who preceded him and lived with him, and through his keen brain to understand the most important chemical phenomenon that has been explained and resolved in the last fifty years.
