FERNANDEZ-GONZALEZ, Manuel y JIMENEZ-GRANADOS, Alejandro. Everyday Chemistry in Science Texts: Analysis and Classification. Educ. quím [online]. 2014, vol.25, n.1, pp.7-13. ISSN 0187-893X.
This article describes an analysis of short excerpts on everyday chemistry found in school science texts. The focus of this study was on texts at the upper secondary level for 15-18 years old students. From a relevant sample of these science texts, excerpts were extracted and analyzed. The results showed certain characteristics that allowed us to define the following four text types or categories: (i) science focused on science; (ii) science in context; (iii) science for all; (iv) recreational science. In this way, a classification was elaborated, which was applied to various publications, including web pages. As a conclusion, the results and orientation of these excerpts are presented.
