The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze Esther Luque Muñoz's (1885-1944) academic and pharmaceutical trajectory. She was the first Mexican woman to graduate as Professor of Pharmacy from the Escuela Nacional de Medicina (National School of Medicine); she was also the first woman to be named Associate Professor at the Escuela Nacional de Ciencias Químicas (National School of Chemical Sciences, ENCQ by its acronym in Spanish), which is now the Faculty of Chemistry at the UNAM. The study was carried out from a historical perspective, taking the period between 1916 and 1941 at the ENCQ as its general context. The sources used for this research project were the Historical Archive at the UNAM, and the Historical Archive at the Faculty of Medicine at the UNAM.
