DE LA HOZ AYUSO, Antonio. Graduate studies about sustainable chemistry in Spain. Educ. quím [online]. 2009, vol.20, n.4, pp.405-411. ISSN 0187-893X.
One of the most important objectives of the Green Chemistry is education. The next generations of chemists have to be educated in the most important Green Chemistry issues. Today, most chemistry textbooks do not use the concepts of Green Chemistry. For instance, atom economy is not still used as a necessary component in planning the synthesis of a compound. In consequence an important effort should be used in education. Several chemical Societies have developed educational projects with the development of textbooks, summer courses and post graduate studies in Green Chemistry. In Spain the Red Española de Química Sostenible (REQS, Spain Green Chemistry Network) has developed several educational initiatives. The most important is the postgraduate studies in Green Chemistry (Doctorate and Máster in Green Chemistry). This is an interuniversitary program concerning nine Universities and researchers from fifteen universities and four public research institutes.
