FIGUEIREDO, Myriam Fracchia. The double extermination due to the interconnection between the legal order and crime. Mexico (2018-2019). Argumentos (Méx.) [online]. 2024, vol.37, n.104, pp.141-163. Epub 11-Ago-2025. ISSN 0187-5795. https://doi.org/10.24275/uamxoc-dcsh/argumentos/2024104-06.
Ten years after the study on the human cost in Mexico (Equipo Bourbaki, 2011), this article analyzes the findings of the exploratory research on the process of human casualties in the country, during 2018-2019, in the midst of the electoral situation. To do this, we conceive violence as a dimension of the social order that generates human casualties, as a result of the state of power characterized by the interpenetration between two territorial domains -the legal order and the criminal order- from a policy of militarization of public security, carried out by legal and illegal armed forces, in which bodies are transformed into merchandise, not only through their appropriation and dispossession but also through their extermination, in a context of war, regardless of the different partisan signs of the governments in shift.
