Resumen

PEREZ, Nayeli Moctezuma. Plurinational or pluricolonial Ecuador? Mega-mining and indigenous resistance in the amazon. Argumentos (Méx.) [online]. 2024, vol.37, n.104, pp.49-69.  Epub 11-Ago-2025. ISSN 0187-5795.  https://doi.org/10.24275/uamxoc-dcsh/argumentos/2024104-02.

The Mountain Range located in South Amazonia in Ecuador is a megadiverse territory ancestrally populated by Shuar nation, sharing the territory with the Kichwa and other settlers. In this space with a great biological and cultural relevance, the first megamining projects have been imposed on behalf of Chinese investors. This means the progress of the invasion of the capital over lands that were not incorporated to that logic, through war and internal colonialism. This case endangers the consolidation of the plurinationality in Ecuador and brings up the civilizatory conflict in which indigenous nationalities and villages remain resisting from their community matrix.

Palabras llave : megamining; internal colonialism; plurinationality; indigenous resistance.
