Abstract

THOMSON, Sinclair. "When the indians only reigned": Recovering the variety of anticolonial projects between the andean communards (La Paz, 1740-1781). Argumentos (Méx.) [online]. 2006, vol.19, n.50, pp.15-47. ISSN 0187-5795.

The central problem of this essay is the specific conception and meaning of the insurgency for the indigenous farmers in the conflicting Andean delayed colonial world. It identifies a central nucleus of anticolonial political options before 1782, which outline an Andean utopia: the one of the end of the Spanish colonial government and the alternative of the Indian self-government.
