RAMIREZ ACEVES, Merizanda María del Carmen; MACHIN-MASTROMATTEO, Juan D. e TARANGO, Javier. The New Documentary Explosion in Times of COVID-19 Pandemic: The Case of Clinical Documents. Investig. bibl [online]. 2025, vol.39, n.105, pp.165-180. Epub 09-Abr-2026. ISSN 2448-8321. https://doi.org/10.22201/iibi.24488321xe.2025.105.59079.
The overabundance of information generated throughout human existence has reached such a point where its control has become a problem. The recent COVID-19 pandemic marked a significant milestone for various academic sectors, and the archival one was no exception: in addition to causing an overproduction of information, it also highlighted the generation of copious quantities of electronic information from teleworking. The aim of this research is to ponder on the documentary explosion that this health emergency left behind and to think about the urgent need to create electronic management systems for archival documents, especially in Mexico. For this, the analytical-reflective method was used, which allowed us to conclude that the production of documents becomes a problem every time there is an extraordinary phenomenon that escapes human control. Therefore, it is necessary to create effective information management systems that avoid future information-documentary collapses.
