This study analyzes the joint scientific output between Cuba and the United States in nuclear physics during the period 1999-2024, using scale-independent bibliometric indicators. A total of 254 articles indexed in Web of Science were examined, evaluating their growth, continuity, thematic specialization, relative impact, and international openness. The results show sustained and highly specialized collaboration, with a citation impact three times higher than the global average. However, structural indicators, such as the average number of countries per article (32.39) and external diversity (34.39), reveal that this output occurs within multinational scientific consortia, instead of through direct bilateral cooperation between the two countries. In this context, the observed relationship is better understood as shared participation in global platforms mediated by broad collaborative structures, rather than a planned bilateral strategy.
